Students Visa(Subclass 500)
You can participate in an appropriate course of study, travel, and work (20 hours per week) in Australia with this visa. The visa is typically issued for a duration of 5 years of study, however the type of study and course length also influence the length of stay. If you wish to stay longer, you must apply for a new student visa, or if your student visa expires before your graduation date, you can apply for a guest visa subclass 600.
When submitting your visa application, you may list family members. For student visas, your family member is your partner, or your or your partner’s unmarried dependant kid who has not reached the age of 18.
Even if your family members do not intend to accompany you to Australia, you must disclose them in your student visa application. If you do not do this, your family members will not be able to join you in Australia on a student visa.
Your family members can also apply in ImmiAccount as a subsequent entrant (at a later time, apart from your application).

Overseas Student Health Coverage is required for health insurance (OSHC)
OSHC must be obtained for yourself and any accompanying dependents at least one week before the commencement of your course and for the duration of your stay in Australia. If you or your agent have arranged OSHC, you must mention the name of your health insurance provider, the start and end dates of your policy, and the policy number in your application form. [Note: For students from Norway, Belgium, Sweden, you might not have to obtain OSHC]
Evidentiary Requirements
Before you lodge your student visa you need to provide a evidence of financial capacity to cover your tuition cost, living and accomodation, extra costs associated, evidence of your English language ability as well as a letter to prove you are a genuine temporary entrant in order to obtain a student visa.
